For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty... that no flesh should glory in His presence.... —that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”
1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Beggars All: Reformation And Apologetics: Tying up some loose ends from yesterday: "The one true church"
This is not related to your post, but I wanted to second your husband's liking of the new Bonhoeffer biography by Eric Metaxas. What a great book. I am halfway through it now. It is one of those hard to put it down books. I expect to finish today or tomorrow. Everyone should read this book to see the witness and courage of a great Christian. Perhaps the best book I have read this year.

Thanks so much for commenting on that, John. I hope to read the book soon too. He's another Christian who is very 'human' and also very Christlike.
